My 2020 headshot portrait.
I keep the tradition going, my annual headshot photo session for the year 2020 portrait. I am only showing 5 of the photos that should be enough, since they are all pretty much the same. Since I also needed a new photo to update my photography website, I went ahead and did them in the same session.

My 2020 coffee mug.
I keep the tradition going, my new 2020 coffee mug. The only difference is that the image is printed on the opposite side of the ear, so it stands out from the other 5 mugs. But as we all know too well, 2020 was indeed a bad year due to covid-19.

Me and my boyfriend, a little fun in Photoshop.
As I was searching through my hard disks with old photos, I happen to stumble up to one of myself from years ago. It was part of a studio test shoot with myself as the test subject, and obviously removed from the session since the lighting was off, as you can tell in the highlight. Still since this is one of the very few photos of myself, I accepted it with it being, technically a bad picture. I wanted to play in Photoshop to create a before and after photo of myself, in the pretend mood of my older me as my boyfriend.

CSX LGBTQ+A(llies)
I was added to the CSX transportation LGBTQ+A Business Resource Group team.
About one month earlier I was asked by CSX transportation if I would like to tell my life story as a trans woman transitioning at work, and if I would like to join the LGBTQ+A Business Resource Group. Of course I said yes, since I would like to advocate transgender issues at work, if I can just help one transgender person, or anyone else in the LGBTQ community...
The LGBTQ+A(llies) group focuses on advocacy, education, policy and community outreach in support of the LGBTQ+ community. The group partners with community advocacy groups on focused initiatives to support open dialogue, acceptance and support for LGBTQ+ employees at CSX and in the communities in which we live and serve.

My official 2020 business headshot.
A few moths earlier I was asked by CSX transportation if I would like to tell my life story, as a trans woman transitioning at work. I gladly said yes and I was
interviewed by corporate communications. My employer
since 2002, CSX Transportation, is thinking about
publishing my story on the company website in
November, the Transgender awareness month. Hence why I aim
the release date of this website in the same month.
I thought that "coming out for a second
time" to possibly 25000+ people at once, a new business headshot would be
great idea. So in order to stand out,
and have a different, more professional
looking portrait then my regular annual
sessions, I went ahead and asked my
daughter to be the MUA. (Make-up Artist)
She also operated the camera in my
studio, so I didn't have to do self
portraits, and she can press the shutter
at the right moment.
I planned a
session with two outfits and two
different backgrounds. I wanted to have
a professional business headshot and a
few other portraits, so I ended up with
a total of 12. For an official business
headshot there shouldn't be any hands
visible in the portrait, at least to be
technically correct.

LGBTQ+A(llies)
CSX’s former EQUAL business resource group is relaunching and rebranding. On Nov. 4, the employee-led business resource group that supports the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning community will relaunch with a new name – LGBTQ+A(llies). The rebranding and changing of the group’s name is meant to be more inclusive of both family and friends who serve as allies of the LGBTQ+ community.
On this day it will be announced that my story “sharing the employee experience” will be featured on the employee gateway during the transgender awareness week in November. I am one step closer to coming out for a
second time to possibly 25K+ people at work.

Erin P. van Beveren: A Railroader Living Her Truth
Employee's personal story honors LGBTQ+ National Transgender Awareness Week. Published on 11/11/2020 12:17 PM
Category: Front Page Features.
My story “sharing the employee experience” is featured on the employee gateway during the transgender awareness week in November. I am coming out, again for a second time, to possibly 25K+ people at work. Although I was already out at work since December 2014, I am now out and visible to all employees, from Florida to Maine, and in between.
With sharing my story and coming out visible and publicly to all my co-workers, I hope to be able to reach out to any transgender persons still hiding in the closet, to let them know that it is okay to be who you are, and you are able to transition at work, with support and respect.

My 2020 christmas portrait.
And yes, I still keep the tradition going. My 2020 christmas portrait.
Just like the past couple of years (5, I think) I buy the common "ugly Christmas sweater". Ugly or not, I have worn this one quite a bit since it's nice and warm in these cold days. Wearing it mostly to and from work though. Talking about work, it is a busy month, with co-workers on vacation and on sick leave. Lots of overtime.
